Getting to lectures and work on time keeps you ahead of the game.  Try a Lumie Body Clock (www.lumie.com) with a light that comes on gently, or, the more brutal Clocky Alarm (www.iwantoneofthose.com) which marches off the bedside table and only stops when you get out of bed to silence it.  Or try the Sonic Alert (available from www.amazon.co.uk), a under-pillow vibrating pad which works even if you are wearing earplugs because of sensitivity to noise.
